ABOUT

Through her experience as a flutist, certified music practitioner and registered nurse, Caitlin Ryan is centered at the intersection of music and healing; fostering a healing presence rooted in both science and music. Her focus is bringing in-the-moment comfort to your whole being—emotional, spiritual, mental, and physiological—simply by being in the presence of music. She believes in the transformative power of music and creates healing environments though her music.
Caitlin is integrating her diverse background of healthcare and music into one. She completed one year of her Master of Music in Flute Performance at Longy School of Music of Bard College before the need to take a leave of absence. She is certified for therapeutic music as a Certified Music Practitioner through the Music for Healing and Transition Program. And she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Xavier University (SXU). While studying nursing at SXU, Caitlin continued her musical studies through private lessons and participation in the SXU Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Flute Choir and Chapel Ensemble.
As a liturgical musician, she regularly provides music ministry at St. Barnabas Parish and recently co-founded the Beverly Chamber Players. She performs with the nation's largest flute choir, the West Suburban Flute Orchestra and provides therapeutic music through Sharing Notes. As a nurse she has worked in several units at both a university medical center and community hospital.
The power of music captivated Caitlin at an early age. As a five-year-old playing the flute she experienced unique opportunities including the start of her liturgical musician journey in fifth grade. Since early childhood, she has been taught to defy expectations and create her own path in life.
